Hi to all MBSians,

A short intro about me: My name is Freddy Goh aka Goh Seng Geap. I attended MBS between 1988 to 1994, left school before I could finish my upper six in 1994. It has been more than a decade since I have left MBS, but yet, the memories are still fresh. There has always been a longing to do something for the school or to go back and help out in anyway I can, but could never find the opportunity nor time to do so... so here I am, creating this site, that will hopefully prove to be helpful for students, ex-students, teachers and ex-teachers. I believe that when we sing the school anthem, we are reminded that there's no rest in learning.... and the best way to learn is to teach and share in one's knowledge and experiences.

I remember the headmaster then - Mr. Lim Yeang Phai, and also several of the teachers who have taught me one way or another: Mr. Tung (Physics), Ms. Khoo (Chemistry), Mr. Lim (Add Math), etc. etc. I think Ms. Khoo and Mr. Lim are still teaching. 1988 to 1994 were very tough years for us as we had gone thru so many syllabus changes introduced by the Education Ministry.

So what happened after school? I left for my U, and after graduation in 1999 from Purdue with an engineering degree, I couldn't get a decent job as the Internet bubble burst and the US went into a recession. Finally, my break came, and I started work for HP in 1999, and left HP's spin off (Agilent) in 2004. Between 2004 to 2008, I have worked for at least 4 companies, and thankfully, I am pretty settled in Philips Lumileds right now.

Looking back, I see a lot of room for preparing students to face today's challenges, and I truly hope that those who have graduated and gone thru much will impart their wisdom and advise to students who are still uncertain about what the future holds for them - not knowing what they are good at or not knowing how to match their talents with their studies are all pitfalls that will cause students to take the wrong paths in life. Paths that I am very familiar with, and I am sure most have traveled on.

I hope MBSians from all walks of life will make this forum a healthy place for everyone to ask questions, imparts answers, advices or just share in their experiences or even grievances. Hopefully, this forum will attract students and alumni alike... to give ourselves a flame and MBS the name!
